Small Business and Economic Development

The Community development educator works in close partnership with the Calumet County Planning Department’s Economic Development Specialist to provide educational resources to businesses and entrepreneurs looking to enhance or start a business, as well as to professionals who serve local businesses.

Business Counseling – Through a partnership with Calumet County, Chuck Brys with the UW Green Bay Small Business Development Center offers free one-on-one business counseling sessions from 8:30 to 4:00 pm one day each month for new and existing Calumet County businesses and entrepreneurs.  Counseling sessions last one to two hours, and free follow-up assistance is available for businesses as needed.  Sessions are held at the Calumet County Courthouse, 206 Court Street in Chilton, usually on the third Tuesday of the month.  An appointment is required for the individual, confidential sessions, and can be made by contacting Kelly Nieforth, at 920 849-2361 ext. 790 or via e-mail at nieforth.kelly@co.calumet.wi.us.  Anyone who wishes to contact Chuck Brys directly to meet with him at his office is encouraged to do so.  Contact Chuck at brysc@uwgb.edu or 920 496 2115.
